PR: Team K&K Prepares for ASN Canadian Championships / Barrick Wins Bear

By: Team K&K Kart

Team K&K Kart, one of Canada’s largest team of dedicated 4cycle racers, is gearing up to take a run at 3 ASN Canadian Championships in Briggs Junior, Senior and Masters, at Goodwood Kartways. Jordan Latimer and Andre Fiorini will be contesting Junior Briggs. Jon Treadwell, Marc Stehle, Kyle Edgar and Dale Bonham will run Briggs Senior, while veteran Keith Barrick will contest for the National Title in Briggs Masters. K&K Kart won the first ever Briggs and Stratton Bear and the ASN CDN.National Briggs Jr. Title, with Jon Treadwell and Trevor Rancier, last year.

Team K&K, in keeping with it’s dedication to support the karting community and different race series, attended the BSRKC event at Shannonville, this past weekend. In doing so, the team missed the Trois Rivieres ECKC event. Jon Treadwell and Marc Stehle being 1-2 in ECKC Briggs Senior points, remained unchanged. Jordan Latimer, who was the ECKC Junior Briggs points leader, dropped out of the lead by a few points, and will have to win the ECKC Championship, at the final event at Mt.Tremblant in Sept.

Over the weekend at Shannonville, every K&K driver in attendance was on the podium, with the exception of Kyle Edgar and Kyle Aulenback, who even with bad luck, had two top 5 finishes each. Andre Fiorini, Jordan and Zach Latimer and Jon Treadwell were all within a few corners of winning Bears, but last lap incidents negated their chances, and had to settle for 2nds and 3rds. K&K Junior drivers opted out of the racing on Saturday afternoon and Sunday, as did most of the K&K Senior drivers.

Certainly, one of the highlights of the weekend for Team K&K, was when well liked veteran Keith Barrick came out of retirement, and won his first Bear ever in Briggs Masters, on an “Out of the Box” K&K Cobra, in a hard fought battle and with a last lap pass on perennial front runner, Ron Henrie. Barrick, who has been preparing to take a run at the Briggs Masters National Title, showed he’s still got it, by winning the Bear in his first race back..

Team K&K, who is also a Title Sponsor of the Briggs Senior class, at the ASN Canadian Championships, will be moving into and setting up at the Goodwood facility next week, in preparation for the event.

Team owner, Kevin Barrick is very optimistic about K&K Kart’s chances to challenge for the ASN Canadian Championship titles, in all 3 Briggs and Stratton classes, at Goodwood. ” And, we’ll have fun doing it “, states Barrick

A special thanks goes out to Double R Performance, from Kevin, Lorne and the Team for their sponsorship and design of the amazing Trailer and Kart Graphics.
