ROK Cup Quebec Introduces ‘Rooky Cup’ Program for 2015 Presented by King Autosport

Coming off the success of their first season, the ROK Cup Quebec organizers are excited announce the development of a new program for their 2015 campaign. Continuing to focus their efforts on the youngest drivers of the sport and introducing new racers, ROK Cup Quebec along with King Autosport have developed the ‘Rooky Cup’ for pilots aged 7 to 10.

The ‘Rooky Cup’ will run at all five ROK Cup Quebec events in 2015 and is an all inclusive program for racers who are interested in getting into the sport or may not have the experience to compete in the Mini-ROK class. All drivers will compete on identical equipment provided by King Karting Canada and ROK Cup Quebec in an Arrive and Drive format with no need to purchase a chassis or engine to compete. Drivers will only be required to provide their race gear (suit, helmet, etc).

“Our intentions are to provide a level playing ground for new drivers interested in karting,” explains series promoter LP Gelinas. “We want to provide equal opportunities for all new drivers and really get them interested in the sport. We are very excited about the second year of the ROK Cup Quebec, especially with the addition and support of SH Karting along with this new program with King Autosport.”

The ROK Cup Quebec will run ten races over five race weekends for the sophomore season. Kicking off at SH Karting in Mont Saint-Hilaire in May, followed by three events at PSL Montreal in Mirabel in the summer before closing out the season back at SH Karting in September.

The program is inspired by NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Team Owner Martin Roy of King Autosport. Roy has competed in and has connections is many aspects of the motorsports ladder across North America.

“Only the drivers talents will make the difference,” explains Roy. “This is what we are looking for in all of our programs.”

Awards will be available to class champion including 50% off the registration fees for the 2016 season along with some additional prizes still to be confirmed.

To compete, drivers will need to sign up with King Karting Canada and provide a recognized race license or complete a karting school at PSL Montreal or SH Karting. Pricing can be found on the attached flyer and drivers who sign up before February 1, 2015 will receive $500.00 off.
