Toronto Racing Association of Karters “Night Race/Double-Header Preview

“TRAK set to host back-to-back events this Saturday.”

Considered by many as one of the best events of the year, the 2014 edition of TRAK’s annual Double Header Night Race promises to build on that reputation. With the Canadian Motorsports Hall of Fame sponsoring the daytime event which will run as an interclub race with MIKA and Greenblock Property Services back on board as title sponsor of the Night Race for the third consecutive season, TRAK officials are excited about this year’s Double Header.

“We introduced the night racing format back in 2009 and it was an instant hit.” explained TRAK President Daniel Di Leo. “The race continues to be a favourite for many avid karters and year after year we look to add value to this special day in hopes of going outside of the box to create something unique for karters to enjoy.” Di Leo was quick to point out that many other clubs have tried to simulate the Night Race concept but believes the TRAK Night Race experience stands above the rest. The success of this event is owed to the Event Sponsors and supporters who go over and above to uphold the reputation of this unique race.

This year’s event will follow the same successful format used in 2013. To kick things off, TRAK and MIKA join forces to contest the Daytime Event which marks TRAK Race 12 of the season long championship. Registration will open at 8am, drivers meeting takes place at 9:30am, practice starts at 10am sharp, and racing is scheduled to wrap up by 3pm. TRAK Officials will then quickly shift gears in preparation for the second event of the day, as the track configuration changes and Karters prepare for the Annual Night Race. Night Race registration will open at 1pm, drivers meeting will take place at 3:15pm, practice begins at 3:30pm and finals continue into the early night.

Keeping with tradition, the event concludes with a COMPLIMENTARY CORN ROAST/BONFIRE and FIREWORKS DISPLAY for everyone in attendance to enjoy. Special THANKS to the Boyle Family and the Signoretti Family for their contributions in making this all possible.

The race Double Header takes place this Saturday September 13th at Goodwood Kartways. Additional practice will be open on Thursday September 11th from 10am-7pm and Friday  September 12th from 10am-5pm. Huge fields are anticipated as TRAK and MIKA join forces in this interclub race special. Visiting club members are always welcomed. The full docket of 4 cycle and 2 cycle classes will be offered.

Participants are encouraged to dress appropriately and plan ahead. Extra pit lighting is highly recommended. Please note that overnight camping is not permitted as per municipal by-laws.
