With the 2014 TRAK Championship in the books, immediate attention turns to the final TRAK event of the year hosted at Goodwood Kartways. The TRAK Attrition Fest is a grueling three-hour enduro that challenges teams consisting of 1-4 team members to overcome many obstacles as they race into the early night.
“Year after year this event gets bigger and bigger,” explains Club President Daniel Di Leo. “The event attracts participants with all different levels of experience. We see Father-Son duo’s, we see mechanics enter teams, of course the top guns from the 2014 Championship will come out to play and last but not least a bunch of washed up Champions of the past enter teams to mix it up with the current stars. All in all, it’s about having some FUN! Getting to the end is a huge accomplishment, getting to the end first makes it that much sweater.”
With just about 20 teams already pre-registered, getting to the end first may be easier said than done. Returning to defend their 2013 title, Daniel Di Leo and Michael Mungy team up in hopes of a repeat performance. Winners of the past, Kyle and Pearce Herder will look to regain the crown. So too will Marco Di Leo, a previous race winner as he teams up with Tyler Kashak. 2014 Junior Briggs Champion Nicholas Hornbostel will be one of two drivers entering two independent teams hoping to double their chances and Alex Murphy looks to mix things up all on his own as he enters as a single drivers looking to complete the 3hrs event solo. The event takes place Saturday October 11th at Goodwood Kartways. All four-cycle classes are offered in a true Multiclass-Sports Car type structure. Race details are available at www.trak.ca. Registration opens at 2pm, with the Green flag flying at 4pm and the checkered flag dropping into the night at 7pm sharp.
