Rotax Pan Am: David Rafailov still on top in Mini-Max

Official day two of the 2012 Rotax Pan American Championship Finals held at The Track at Centennial in Colorado, USA saw each class have three important rounds of heat races to determine the starting order for Sunday’s events. It was another beautiful day at Centennial as blue skies and a nice breeze kept the conditions near perfect.

Scoring the win in heat race #1 and #3, David Rafailov (CRG/USA) will lead the Rotax Mini-Max class on Sunday. Rafailov benefitted from some on-track penalties to continue his control up front. Luis Forteza III (CRG/Puerto Rico) will start second after recording a 4-3-3 in the heat races, while Victor Prato (Intrepid/Venezuela) will start third after tallying 15 points. Michael Benyahia had two great heats to start the day, but contact with Santiago Terife vaulted him off the track and out of the race in heat 3, forcing him to start Sunday’s pre final from fifth, with Nicholas Brueckner slotting into fourth.

Sunday will see drivers hit The Track at Centennial for a pre-final and a winner take all final race in the afternoon.
