When the final races of the day were completed for the Waterloo Regional Kart Club (WRKC) on Saturday May 10th it was easy to see that the spectators can look forward to another great season. In almost every class the margin of victory was less than half a second. The top 5 virtually ran nose to tail from start to finish. Honda racing is alive and well at the WRKC.
The club was very happy to have Jane Colling joined by Family and Friends as our race day sponsor in honour of her late Husband Everett. On June 8th they will be participating in the Hamilton Walk for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Jane, has done an outstanding job in the last 3 years as she has as she raised money to support research into finding a cure for this terrible disease. ALS is a paralyzing, life ending condition that attacks and kills the motor neurones in the body. It denies it victims the ability to move, to speak, and finally to breathe. The club thanks Jane for her sponsorship, and hopes her walk is a success. To help Jane in her fund raising efforts the proceeds from the 50/50 draw were donated to Jane for her walk.
The WRKC is back in action Saturday May 24th at Flamboro Speedway. Practice starts at 8:00 am. The first of 3 heat races per class start at approximately 9:00 am. All kart racers that have a valid license from another club are welcome, as our spectators.
