The Karts & Parts team is pleased to announce that it will be represented at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, November 13-16 in New Orleans by two of Canada’s great young talents: Joe Soranno and Jeffrey Kingsley. This is Karts & Parts’ 6th trip to this exciting event. Team principal, Kyle Herder, has represented Canada, racing at the Grand Finals on 3 previous occasions and has now turned his attention to coaching and tuning rising young stars. Former Canadian Champion Lon Herder is also making the trip to the NOLA circuit, tuning and coaching one of the team’s entries.

Karts & Parts team driver Joe Soranno is making his first trip to the Grand Finals in the Rotax Mini Max category. This is the first year that the Mini Max class has been added to the schedule of the Rotax Grand Finals. “I know the field will be the strongest competition I have raced against, but it would be great to win for Canada.” commented Soranno. “That would make me the first Mini Max Grand Finals Champion and that would be cool.” he continued. Since qualifying through the ECKC, Soranno has been testing the Mini Max package he will be racing during the finals. With more power, less tire and a shorter wheel base, the package is a handful compared to the Canadian spec for this class.

After winning the Rotax Max Jr. category in the ECKC, Jeffrey Kingsley approached Karts & Parts’ Kyle Herder about partnering with him during the recent Pan Am Challenge and upcoming Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. This is not the first time for this duo to work together; Kingsley was a Karts & Parts team driver through his Mini Max days in 2010 & 2011, winning both the ECKC and the Canadian Nationals titles in 2011. The two served notice at the Pan Am Challenge that they are ready to compete on the world stage. Racing against many of the same competitors they will see at the finals, Kingsley finished the weekend standing on the podium in third place. On November 16th, they will be looking to take two steps up during the Grand Finals. “Jeffrey is a great talent who shows a high level of maturity and certainly knows how to get the job done. Our history has always been strong and I look forward seeing what next week brings us.” Herder beamed, “I am confident about our abilities in competing together for the highest step on the podium.”

The wait is almost over. Be sure to watch our two drivers compete on the world stage. Follow the action live through the NOLA Motorsports Park website www.nolamotor.com. Best of luck to our drivers Joe Soranno and Jeffery Kingsley and to all competitors in the Rotax Grand Finals.
