PR: Supertune USA Scores Double Podium at SKUSA SuperNationals

Capping off a successful 2013 karting program, Supertune USA was at the front of the field at the annual Superkarts! USA (SKUSA) SuperNationals. Held in Las Vegas, Nevada, weather would wreak havoc in the desert, as rain would fall continuously throughout the five-day event. With drivers competing in a magnitude of divisions, the premier engine builder would manage to take home a pair of podium results as they now shift their focus to 2014.

“The results from Vegas were a great way to end the season,” explained Supertune USA’s Ben Cruttenden. “Though we all try our hardest to win, some days just being able to run at the front of the field is a challenge. I am proud of Javier and Marco and their accomplishments.”

In the forty kart strong Rotax Junior division, Javier Gonzales came home the vice-champion after a strong showing throughout the week. Running near the pointy end of the field throughout the rain soaked heat races, Gonzales came to life in the main event and again challenged for the victory. Falling down the order slightly, Gonzales would be elevated to the second position on the strength of some fast and consistent race laps.

Cruttenden added, “Gonzales had the speed to win and it’s a shame that he wasn’t in a position to mount an attack in the late stages of the race.”

In the Senior ranks, it was Marco Maestranzi who would carry the Supertune USA flag as he battled hard in the ultra competitive TaG Senior ranks. Utilizing a Supertune USA Parilla Leopard, Maestranzi was able to cross the stripe in the third and final podium position in arguably the toughest class on the weekend.

“Supertune USA is known for their Rotax motors but we proved that we can compete in the TaG division as well,” expressed Cruttenden. “Moving forward, we will be putting a major effort into the 2014 Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour. We are the reigning Rotax Junior champions and want to build on that success. We will be focusing on a smaller clientele with an increase in service to ensure our drivers run at the front of their respective divisions.”

With engines available in Rotax as well as Mini Rok categories, Supertune USA urges you to call and reserve your engine today.
