Impressive showing at PSL Montreal as OGKC Invades ROK Cup Quebec/I-Kart Championship

There was a special vibe in the paddock this past weekend at the PSL Montreal Karting facility. As the PSL Montreal I-Kart Championship took to the track, featuring their ROK Cup Quebec program, the Ottawa-Gatineau Karting Club also joined in on the action. The event was on display in front of a large crowd of race fans who invaded the ICAR facility just north of Montreal, Quebec for the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event on the full track.

A pair of races on the weekend kept everyone in attendance busy with plenty of on track action. Racing the PSL Montreal circuit in the reverse direction, drivers were given a new challenge to an already technical karting track at ICAR.

For Saturday, a complete race day for all eight classes was held under beautiful sunny skies and hot temperatures. With Sunday’s feature NASCAR event, karters were kept to a shortened schedule before being able to enjoy the sounds of the 4000lb stock cars roar around the ICAR car circuit.

Also on Sunday, everyone at PSL Montreal put on a great display of karting action on a small portion of the car track to promote the sport in front the audience. Completing a handful on demonstration laps, all classes were on display to the cheers from the crowd.

Race winners on Saturday included: Patrick Woods-Toth (Mini-ROK and Micro-Max), Charlotte Lalonde (Senior Briggs), Michel Forget (Masters Briggs), Paul Hoffman (Junior Briggs), Bruno LeGrand (DD2), Alex Legare (Junior TaG/ROK), and Alan Moreau (Shifter).

Woods doubled up on Sunday with another win in Mini-ROK as Mathieu Demers arrived Sunday morning to score the win in DD2. Derek Michaud joined the action on Sunday as well and claimed the win in Senior Briggs, while Owen Clark stepped up the top of the podium in Junior Briggs. Kevin King worked out his technical woes to win the Shifter race to complete another successful race day.

All in all, it was a great weekend at PSL Montreal. A great atmosphere, die-hard race fans and racing programs from karts all the way to professional cars made ICAR the place to be for any racing enthusiast.
