FWT: Barrichello and Lennox Earn Pole-Positions in DD2

In his first start in the Rotax DD2 category former Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello (OGP/FA Kart) stormed to the top of the time charts in the second qualifying session for the Rotax DD2 category at the Florida Winter Tour presented by Cold Stone Creamery held at the Orlando Kart Center. Barrichello is taking on a stout International field of Rotax DD2 drivers making his outright speed that much more impressive.

The UK’s Jordan Lennox (Jim Russell Karting Academy/BirelART) earned the pole-position in the other qualifying session and will start from P1 on Sunday, while a flat tire held him back from challenging Barrichello’s time in Saturdays qualifying session.

FWT: Double-Pole for Matthew Latifi in Mini-Max Qualifying

Under very cold conditions at the Orlando Kart Center Canadian Matthew Latifi (Ferrolati Corse/TonyKart) was able to beat the tough conditions and earn the pole-position for both race days in the Mini-Max category by posting the fastest time in both Qualifying sessions on Friday.

Orlando hosts the second round of the 2015 Florida Winter Tour Rotax Max Challenge presented by Cold Stone Creamery.

In Saturdays Pre-Final, Latifi will line up beside Columbian Sebastien Rodriguez (Orsolon/TonyKart) followed by Mexican driver Emiliano Richards (AM/Exprit), and Americans Dylan Tavella (Verde/TonyKart) and Dylan Gennaro (TonyKart). Fellow Canadians Nicholas d’Orlando (KoeneUSA/TonyKart), Stefano Lucente (K&P/CRG) and Thomas Nepveu (SH Racing/TonyKart) were sixth, fourteenth and fifteenth respectively.

PR: Maranello North America Primed Up for Florida Winter Tour Round Two

Returning to the sunny state of Florida, USA, Maranello North America is back in action this weekend to compete in the 2015 Florida Winter Tour Rotax Max Challenge at the Orlando Kart Center. For the second stop of the three round championship, six pilots will race out of the team tent across in three different categories on the twisty track that is just under a mile in length.

Leading the charge in the Rotax DD2 category, Robert Wickens and Fred Woodley will take on the premier category of international stars. Wickens, a DTM series driver, is back for some off-season karting action while Woodley continues to gain attention competing against the worlds best DD2 drivers. Both were very quick a month ago in Homestead and will be vying for the podium on Saturday and Sunday.
