The second half of the double-header weekend at Mosport International Karting featured much nicer weather conditions for the opening round of the 2014 Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. With the rumble of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series roaring by on the CTMP track, Sunday was full of octane at the entire Mosport facility including excellent kart racing.

After being forced to miss his Final on Saturday due a scheduling conflict with his Canadian Touring Car Championship, Stuart Clark (Maranello) was back and seeking vengeance in Rotax DD2 Masters. The defending class champion was no match for him competition on Sunday as he swept the days action as if it was a Sunday drive. After pacing qualifying and winning his prefinal, Clark returned to the car track to compete in his CTCC race where he finished third in class after starting at the rear. Quickly racing back to the kart track, Clark jumped into his Maranello and put his foot down to pull away to a five-second victory and posting his fastest lap that was four-tenths of a second quicker than the rest!

Etienne LaSalle (PSL/CRG) won the battle for second as he was able to break free from Francis Mondou (Intrepid), Chris Glover (KMS/Birel) and Paul Carvalho (CRG) and let them battle for third. Carvalho completed the podium ahead of Mondou and Glover.

Round two of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship will be held at Goodwood Kartways near Stouffville, Ontario on June 27-29.
