The Waterloo Regional Kart Club’s 31st Oktoberfest Grandprix is a huge success.

If you are a serious kart racer the only place to be on the Saturday of the Thanksgiving weekend is the Waterloo Regional Kart Club’s (WRKC) Oktoberfest Grandprix held at Flamboro Speedway. This year’s race marked the 31st running of a race that many of Canada`s top racers have competed in. The club started a new tradition this year with the unveiling of a new trophy that the club commissioned from a local glass artist. The trophy will be presented to the race winners in each class from this year forward. With almost 120 carts at the race it was not going to be easy to win one of these new coveted awards. In addition to the special trophy the top five in each class were also presented with cash prizes.

The club would like to thank our 2 race day sponsors. Young Drivers of Canada have been working with new drivers in Canada for many years to help them prepare for getting their drivers license. The running of the Oktoberfest Grand Prix brings to an end the 2012 racing season for the WRKC, it was a great year that saw lots of exciting racing and a lot of fun at events for the members. The club wants to thank all those who came out and raced with us this year, the volunteers who organize and run the races, and all of the spectators who came out and watched some great racing throughout the season. Planning is already started for another great season in 2013, and we look forward to seeing everyone back at the track in mid April.
