WRKC Race 12 Weekend Report

The Waterloo Regional Kart Club had a warm Saturday race event this past weekend as summer returned for Race day activities. The club was in reverse direction for Race #12 on the schedule. The Cadet group provided a very competitive field for all heats and in the feature, it was Cole Newton taking the feature win over Kole Slote as these two continue to battle for the championship with only one points race remaining on Sept 23. Novice put on a great show with lots of karts in the field and in the final, it was Scotty Watkins taking the feature win over Ethan DeMenna.

Junior Light had a great turnout and in the feature, it was Jordan Ramsbottom taking the top spot over Nathan Alger which puts Jordan in a strong position for a 2017 championship with one race to go. Junior Heavy feature was won by Tyler DiVenanzo with Russel Woodley a very close second making this another very close championship.

Senior Medium was Daren Dryden in a limited appearance this year. Daren dominated in the feature race as he walked away from the field with David Miller coming in a distant second place followed by Tyler Paquette in the third position. The Masters Championship is still up for grabs with 5 Karts that have a legitimate shot at the title. It was Glen Lawrence taking the feature closely followed by Scott Elwood and Dave Mordue just waiting for the slightest error to take the spot from Glen.

Thanks again to our Race Day Sponsor Sunvale Homes and John Z. Welton president of Sunvale homes for their continued support which without them none of this would be possible. WRKC has one last final points race scheduled on Saturday Sept 23. This is an event that cannot be missed as most of the division championships are still up for grabs so come on out, everyone’s welcome to join in the fun with WRKC for a great day of racing and remember no admission for spectators everyone is welcome so please bring the family out and cheer on your favorite driver.

Don’t forget stay after the kart racing and watch a full night of Stock car racing at Flamboro Speedway it’s a great family entertainment evening. For more info on the WRKC and scheduled racing dates please check them out at www.wrkc.on.ca.
