Ben Cooper Racing Carrying Early Season Momentum into ECKC Opener

After a successful first race of the season two weeks ago for Ben Cooper Racing, the team has travelled west into Ontario, landing at Goodwood Kartways just outside of Toronto to compete in this weekends opening round of the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship. With a mix of Canadian and American drivers ready to take on the best drivers from the region, eight drivers spread across five different categories will fly the BCR colours, all aboard BirelART machines.

There is plenty of excitement under the BCR team tent following a Coupe du Quebec event that saw team drivers claim two wins to start the year.

“We are really excited for the start of the ECKC season,” explained Team Manager Ben Cooper. “We have a strong team with a lot of potential this year for podiums throughout the season hopefully starting with this weekend.”

Goodwood Kartways is a unique track that will challenge the BCR team drivers, as the tight and twisting 750 metre circuit keeps drivers on edge throughout the entire lap.

A pair of young guns will compete in Micro-Max as Justin Arseneau and Dale Curran will continue their inner-team rivalry at Goodwood. The two have been very fast this year and should be on track for the top of the podium this weekend.

In Mini-Max, Patrick Woods-Toth and Chloe Chambers are making their second start in the category after moving up from Micro-Max. Both were on the podium two weeks ago at SRA.

Americans George Stojackovic and Emma Dellatre join a very impressive Rotax Junior category. Dellatre will make her Junior debut after starting the season in Mini-Max, while Dev Gore and Didier Carré will contend in Rotax DD2.

Rounding out the team this weekend in Goodwood is Xavier Dorsnie, the sole team member competing in the Briggs & Stratton categories.

Friday will be official practice followed by two race days of action on Saturday and Sunday.
