$4500 in Prize Money and Payout Structure Confirmed for Point Pelee Karting Club Memorial Shootout

The organizers of the 2015 Point Pelee Karting Club Memorial Shootout in Leamington, Ontario have confirmed the structure in which the more than $4000.00 in prize money will be awarded. The annual summer four-cycle event pays tribute to the club members lost too son and as a bonus to an excellent day of racing, the positive vibe the event creates shows why karting truly is one big family.

The event takes place on June 28 and is a must attend for those who enjoy Briggs & Stratton LO206 racing. The grids have exceeded 20 karts in past years and once again looks like it will feature many of Canada’s best four-cycle racers. For those looking to practice before the big race, a club race is scheduled for June 27 and will utilize the same track configuration and if you cannot attend on Saturday, all classes will be given three practice sessions on Sunday morning.

All eyes will be on the Briggs & Stratton Senior category when it hits the track in Leamington as the feature race has a new prize payout format. For 2015 the class will qualify and run a PreFinal instead of the usual inverted heat race format to set the grid for the Final. In addition to the Final winner, the fastest qualifier and PreFinal winner will also take a piece of the pie, making it possible for a driver to take home more than $2500.00 if he/she was able to sweep the days action. As usual, the highest finishing out of town driver will also take home a chunk of the prize money as the club has an open invitation to drivers from all over the region.

Prizes and money will also be up for grabs in the Novice category as well as Briggs Junior.


Prize breakdown for 2015 Point Pelee Karting Club Memorial Shootout

Briggs & Stratton LO206 Senior:

1st place: $1500.00
2nd place: $500.00
3rd place: $250.00
Highest finishing out of town driver: $500.00
– $100.00 gas cards to second and third highest finishing out of town drivers
Fastest Qualifier: $250.00
PreFinal Winner: $500.00

Briggs & Stratton LO206 Junior:

1st place: $300.00
2nd place: $200.00
3rd place: $100.00

Four-Cycle Novice: 

$300.00 in toys will be distributed at the podium celebration to the top-three finishers

**Honda engines are also allowed to enter in all four-cycle classes. Local rules apply.


We expect to see many new faces make the journey to Leamington, Ontario, the tomato capital of Canada on June 27 and 28, you will not be disappointed.
